Welcome to Jet Set Mom! Traveling with kids is not easy -- especially when you are alone. Here's some highlights of my trips around the U.S. and the world (and some closer to home) with my children Alex and Serene.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is my new favorite vacation spot. We can't wait to go back. The beaches are beautiful -- covered with sea shells -- and the water is warm. There's boating, fishing, surfing, kayaking, scuba diving, para sailing, windsurfing and just splashing around in the calm waves along its 60 miles of beach. Our hotel was located footsteps from the sand and the view from our balcony was picture perfect.

"I wish they all could be California ...KIDS!"
During the summer of 2012, Alex and Serene enjoyed the California beaches from as far south as Dana Point and as far north as Santa Barbara. At the beaches of Malibu, Topanga, Zuma and our favorite Leo Carillo, the kids built sand castles, surfed the waves, climbed along the tidal pools, buried each other in the sand, soaked in the sun and became the California kids they were destined to become. Alex is ready to take surf lessons and Serene is already the cutest bunny at the beach.

Laguna Beach Thanksgiving Break
The tidepools at Laguna Beach in Southern California are within the State Marine Conservation Area. When the tides recedes, the rocky points become homes to little fish, crabs and other anemones. When much of the rest of the country prepared to go "over the snowy river and through the snowy woods to grandmother's house," we headed south and spent the day enjoying the sun, surf, sand and starfish along one of California's most beautiful beaches.

Paradise is the Bahamas!

Alex rolled in the sand covering every part from head to toe, sipped cocktails from a coconut (minus the rum) and splashed in the soft waves of the Atlantic. It might have been the most fun that he ever had.
In addition to its amazing beach and pure sun, the Atlantis Hotel is a Las Vegas scale casino and hotel where you can swim with the dolphins in its marine aquarium, allow the stingrays to swim under your finger tips, and experience close up view of sharks, barracudas and green sea turtles. An Aqua Tots program even lets the little ones get in the water to feed the fishes.
Probably the best way to get to the Bahamas is via ship. Just a hop, skip & a jump from the Florida coast, Nassau is a popular docking spot for all the major cruise lines. Once you debark, dozens of taxi cabs are lined up with photos of the beach and the Atlantis eager to take you 15 minutes across the island – to Paradise!
